Post by Hal Womack 3-danWas half the point of the game that Master Top Bot was toying with Prime Rib Ke Jie?
Programs do not think in terms of toying but maximise winning
probability. At each bot turn, it chooses one of the scores with
maximal probability. Over many turns, it frequently happens that a
safely winning bot retains the score 0.5 as the last remaining one. It
is likely that it was winning for a long time. In human paraphrasing,
yes, we could say that it was toying with the opponent, who played
very well, too. Nowadays, it is already an achievement to create a
good game against the almighty deep neural net of Deepmind.
